Luminescent

Today at Holy Yoga we practiced in the lobby of the church instead of the gym where we normally because the gym had just been painted. I positioned myself right next to the beautiful 15ft christmas tree standing in the center of the lobby. The lights were dim in the room so the greatest source of light was coming from the tree and the cracks in the broken vessels in the room. Twas glorious.

rascal flatts

The Bean and Mega at the Rascal Flatts concert. It was wonderful! Reminded me how awesome it is to see men who truly love worshipping God and aren't ashamed. We're waiting for our cowboys! Groupon totally hooked us by the way with these tickets...and free packets of skittles...doesn't get much better than that!

i loved them. they love Jesus, I know they do.

a sunset chateau

The view from our luxury suite...
king sized bed shared with the bean...it was like i was all alone. king beds are HUGE!

The bean in our suite...isn't it awesome?!?

I loved this painting to the right. I think i could do it myself if I tried. something about the simplicity and colors.
I treated myself to a weekend up in Sedona for my 28th. We stayed at www.asunsetchateau.com and it was amazing. Husband and wife, both painters and sculptors, run the bed and breakfast. The husband is from France but is Italian. They made us croissants for breakfast Sunday morning! okay, truly they made everyone the croissants, but it felt like they were made especially for me and my delight.
Three of my girlfriends came up - bean, Lizzo and Kate. We spent Saturday at the Sedona Winefest taste testing local wines and listening to the gypsy jazz band play. We ate gluten free pizza for dinner and then went and layed in the hammocks outside, talking and gazing at the stars. I noticed a sudden change in air odor and not too soon after complaining that it smelled of poo did a few javelina run across our path and eat and chase each other for about 15 minutes. They weren't even 8 ft away. The bean and I were terrified but Kate had a death wish and wanted to get up close and personal. I'm realizing that I need to take more pictures...what an adventure we had. The second evening was the best - we were downgraded to the Chateau instead of the luxury suite, but for any of you who are interested, the chateau's are way better. The bean got to sleep on a Murphy bed and Kate and I were jealous. It was basically one of the best weekends ever.

28th Birthday

Turning 28 was sweet indeed!
I get my hypochondriac-ism from my father...he had a flu shot earlier in the day, and started having chills and couldn't stop shaking...just like someone else told him their father had experienced. I brought up the movie "Bandits" and the scene where the guy starts smelling burning feathers. I love my mom and pops!

holy deliciousness. Raw chocolate cheesecake on the left - the crust was perfectly salted to add contrast to the sweetness. On the right is the pomegranate chocolate cake that is a staple at the pomegranate cafe here in Ahwatuckee. The three of us shared these pieces and I ate the leftovers for breakfast the morning after. sweet.

Getting back to nature...

I have been eating lots of processed things like...pita chips, and those delicious cheese-less cheetos by pirates booty - TINGS!!! I'm getting off course. Needing to pull myself back to health I focused on raw salads...yum!!

Hostess with the mostess?

Vegan lasagna! I used three different recipes to make this and found an awesome green ceramic baking dish to make it in. The lasagna included my sister-in-laws suggested "meatballs", pesto deliciousness, and lots of juicy tomatoes and "ricotta cheese" i made myself. oh yes, delicious. my non-vegan friends went back for seconds! I call this dish "Megan's yumminess.com"

catching up - green things that i love

I have decided to start buying flowers for myself. My apartment looks so much more like a warm and friendly home when i have cheerful flowers greeting me!

I have been on an asparagus kick. i love these babies broiled with olive oil and tons of garlic cloves...oh BABY!!!

When I was in Minnesota my dad fixed my grandma's riding lawn mower and actually let me mow! This was the first time and only time I have ever mowed in my life. Ben always did the mowing growing up. I was really excited. I mowed crooked lines and didn't know you were supposed to go in a circle. I was pretty cool though, seriously.
